That comes later when I get home Tuesday (we're still in Maryland). For now, what's on the top of my mind is:

Saturday my favorite acorn and oak leaf metal pin -- two dark brown shiny acorns with a bronze leaf behind, flat on the back side and rounded on the front -- fell off my costume while I was wandering in the vendors' realm.

No one has turned it in to Lost and Found.

Which means someone picked it up. . . and kept it.

Given the plethora of acorns and leaves at FaeCon, it's easy to believe someone felt they wanted to keep their lucky find. Once MY lucky find. And, again, in case I didn't mention, FAVE pin.

May the fae steal your favorite magical icon. Karma's a bitch.

Thank you. I hope so: it was one of a kind and really went with my costume. It will be hard to replace, even though frankly it was a cheapie found on Ebay years ago.

...I found the workers there to be nice but sometimes clueless in some ways: we really wanted some of Adam Hurst's albums, and downstairs they said they didn't know where they were and had never heard of them, and then an hour later the cds were on that very counter, and the people said they had found them all smooshed in a pile somewhere and just dug them out with some other mystery stuff...and this was like 1-3 pm on Sunday, when you figured they'd be familiar with what they had and were going to have...so, I hope it is found and turned in...I bet they'll have a stack of mystery stuff stored somewhere...

The FaeCon workers, or the hotel staff? Because when I asked about a Lost and Found for the con, I was told they didn't have one, just the one for the hotel. I suppose it does make more sense to have ONE central place, but imo it should be with the con -- simply because the hotel is NOT going to track someone down* or post on the LJ FaerieCon community that such-and-such item was turned in, who claims it as theirs.

The problem with most cons is that there are "too many cooks." A necessary problem, though, because you need many. But the more there are, the more communication breaks down: hence the cds being forgotten in a pile somewhere.

*(I left my name and tel # and the description of the pin with the hotel Lost and Found. But yeh, not holding my breath.)
